Dr. Rambabu Botcha, Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. He received his Integrated M.Phil/Ph.D from the world-famous Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. He is the recipient of the Young Achievement Award in Social Work for his outstanding performance in improving the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS. He holds the life memberships of the National Association of Professional Social Workers in India (NAPSWI) and the Indian Society for Professional Social Work (ISPSW). He presented ten papers at International Conferences including the Bangkok International Conference in 2013, in Thailand.

 

He has gained 10 years of teaching, research, and practice experience in various parts of the country in Higher Education in India. He presented 30 papers in National Seminars/Conferences on various themes such as Youth Affairs, Social Work, Social Entrepreneurship, etc. He has coordinated several training programs on Youth Development across the country. He actively took part in organizing half a dozen national seminars/conferences.

 

He coordinated 4 National Seminars/Conferences at RGNIYD and one International Workshop. At the moment he is the principal investigator of the Research Project titled “Issues and Concerns of Youth at Risk in the Metropolitan City of Chennai”

 

There are 25 publications in Scopus/UGC Care List/Peer Reviewed National/International journals/edited volumes to his credit. He authored a book on Social Work Education in India: Retrospect and Prospect and Co-authored a book on Social Case Work: The Indian Perspective. He also co-edited a book on ‘Youth Development: Emerging Perspectives. He visited three countries (Thailand, China, and Srilanka). Two of them were nominated by the Government of India officially.
