Department for Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Youth

The Department identifies unique needs of the marginalized youth viz., youth belonging to scheduled tribes and scheduled castes, young women, migrant youth, young people living in slums, victims of human trafficking, youth belonging to minority communities, etc. and develops appropriate programmes to empower and integrate them. It also networks with forefront national agencies for mobilizing youth for social action and social justice besides building the capacities of institutions working for the social cause.
