Academic Division

The Academic Division strives to develop a cadre of competent professionals for youth development in the country through appropriately-designed and proficiently delivered courses of studies in various academic areas that are relevant to the emerging developmental needs and aspirations of the young people and consistent with the national values and professional ethics of youth work functionaries. The academic courses being currently offered are patterned on those being offered by reputed educational institutions across the globe and measure up to international standards and curricula requirements.


The major functions of the Division Include:

  • Offering post-graduate degrees in youth development in relation to knowledge, skills, ethics, values, etc thereby providing wider access to the academic courses of the Institute to aspiring young professionals who wish to take up a career in the field of youth development within and outside the country.
  • Organising exchange programmes for faculty members with institutes and universities of international repute to develop the professional capabilities of the teaching/training faculty of the Institute.

  • Managing student exchange programmes with reputed institutes/universities, enabling the students to acquire proficiency in the subject of their choice.  

  • Offering internships and placements for the students with national and international organisations to provide them necessary interactive exposure to wider social and cultural diversities, thus, enabling them to compete in the global job market.

  • Reviewing the existing curricula of various courses to make them consistent with the needs of the employing agencies and to ensure parity with the standards of the reputed educational institutions of the country.

  • Offering doctoral fellowships to assist in research, training and teaching academic programmes of the institute.

  • Utilizing the expertise of eminent scholars, professors and outstanding activists to provide expert academic discourse to the students and faculties of the institute.
