Prof.(Dr.) M.M. Goel, Director, RGNIYD delivered motivational speech on "Challenges for Skill India" to the BVOC students and Staff on 26th July, 2017 at ATDC centre, Chennai

Chennai, July 26- The efforts of skill development under ‘Skill India’ for ‘Make in India’ are necessary but not sufficient. To make them sufficient we need to increase the return on training investment (ROTI) which calls for communication skills with spiritual input and time managment. There is an urgent need of training of trainers with chain of reforms ensuring fundamental changes with greater accountability, transparency and morality (ATM) more important than the ATM of any bank, said Prof.( Dr) M. M. Goel, Director RGNIYD here today. He was speaking on the topic ‘Challenges for Skill India’ at the  Apparel Training & Design Centre, Guindy for B.Voc Orientation Programme for the students in Fashion Design & Retail .

For solving the twin problems poverty and unemployment, we need to convert Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) in to a Multi-National Corporation (MNC) as possess the potential to do wonders.   Mahatma Gandhi talked of Khadi for more than clothing -a way of life in swadashi strategy of survival, subsistence and self-sufficiency (an objective of a closed economy where there is no international trade) best suited to the needs of that time. But if he is alive today and seen the present times of post reform era he would have certainly talked of Khadi for self-reliance, the present objective of Indian economy with international trade and of course, Indian economy including Khadi have to be internationalized at all costs for fetching the fortunes under mantra of globalization, told Prof. Goel

We need to make the labour market system dynamic to get demand and supply of skills on real time basis for meeting total domestic requirement of trained manpower, believes Professor Goel
