Dr.P.Thiyagarajan did his Integrated Masters from prestigious College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG) Anna University, Chennai and secured First Class with Distinction.
He worked as Software Engineer in Aricent Technologies where he was conferred with Best Technical award for his project work. Owing to pursue research, he joined as Research Associate in Smart and Secure Environment (SSE) Research lab, Pondicherry University in the year 2009. He has received a letter of appreciation from SSE project Investigators for his work done in the Smart and Secure Environment (SSE) Research project. He was awarded with Post-Doctorate fellow by Department of Atomic Energy, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research in 2013.
In 2014, he joined as Assistant Professor in Department of Computer Science and Engineering in Mahindra University (Erstwhile Mahindra Ecole Centrale, Hyderabad - An International Institute by Tech Mahindra and Ecole Centrale France Paris). Being the founder faculty in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, he was instrumental in framing the syllabus and establishing the computer labs in Mahindra Ecole Centrale, Hyderabad.
Dr.P.Thiyagarajan was the founder head of the Department of Computer Science, Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN), Thiruvarur from 2016 to 2020. He has established two labs namely Alan-Turing Advance Computing Lab and Dennis Ritchie Advance Computing Lab.
During his headship period in Department of Computer Science, CUTN he has introduced Ph.D. in Computer Science in the year 2017 and M.Phil. in Computer Science in the year 2018. Dr.P.Thiyagarajan was the Nodal Officer of Campus Connect Wi-Fi project in Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur which is of the worth of 5.6 crores funded by UGC. This project is one of the milestones in the history of Central University of Tamil Nadu in which all the academic buildings and hostels of CUTN are connected with Optical Fiber Cable and using which Wi-Fi connectivity was given in CUTN under OPEX model through M/s. RailTel.
To his credit Dr.P.Thiyagarajan has published 44 research papers in reputed International Journals, Conferences and workshops. He has successfully guided two scholars and filed one patent.
In the year 2020, he was awarded with “Young Scientist Fellow” by Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology, Government of Tamil Nadu. He has successfully completed three research projects worth of more than 10 lakhs. He received full fund from UGC for his proposal on “Basic Computer Applications” certificate course offered by Community College, Central University of Tamil Nadu. He was the coordinator for this course from 2018 to 2022. He has delivered 75+ invited talks in various Universities and Institutions across India.
