
Aurobind, serves as an Assistant Professor and Head (I/c) in the Department of Computer Science (Data Science) at Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), (An Institution of National Importance) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, Sriperumbudur, Chennai, TN. He has been involved in technology enabled educational research and implementation for more than 7 years and his current research interests include data science, healthcare, system analytics, deep exploring, identifying, and resolving complex problems in the human-artificial intelligence collaboration and health informatics disciplines, using a combination of behavioural and analytical frameworks using digital technology. His most recent research models are healthcare analytics and problem identification using bots in knowledge-intensive virtual communities.
Prior to joining RGNIYD, Aurobind worked as a Scientist-C (IT) in the National Institute of Mental Health And NeuroScience (NIMHANS), An Institute of National Importance, Govt. of India located at Bangalore. With his technical expertise and academic leanings, he holds a core position and IT In-charge in establishing the NIMHANS Digital Academy, Virtual Knowledge Network (VKN) under Centre for Addiction Medicine and SAMVAD-MoWCD at NIMHANS, enabling innumerable IT and Digital infrastructure establishments, training and research programs using blended learning model for various medical and mental health professionals across the country. His early years were spent as a technical functionary at DBT-BINC Program, a Grand Challenge Program of Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India at Centre for Bioinformatics, School of Life Science, Pondicherry University (A Central University) and as System/Network Administrator at various renowned Multi-National and International Companies.
Aurobind has strived to extend the reach of education with technology. He has presented his research at major international and national conferences in the area of technology enabled teaching and health informatics, with experience in using quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to design research studies, he led and co-authored publications in peer reviewed journals. He also actively engages in practical service to his area of interest as a reviewer for information technology and health informatics international journals.
Aurobind holds a post graduate engineering degree of Master of Technology in Computer Science and graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology. His core academic degrees are bolstered by further academic study and he earned several Post Graduate Diploma qualifications in Automation & Networking, Cyber Security, Education Technology & Guidance and Counselling, Internet Technology and Data Mining. Since then, his career has spanned across both academia and industry.
Aurobind continued to expand his technical skills and was recognized as an expert Engineer and IT Professional by Google, Microsoft, Cisco, who are the world leaders in technology and research across the world. He is a Google certified Educational Technologist, Microsoft Certified Solution Expert on Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, Cisco Certified Network Associate and VMware Certified Professional in Data Center Virtualization. With his technical and academic outreach, he had received several recognition to contribute with professional bodies at Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi, International Association for Engineers (IAENG), Hong Kong, International Society of Automation (ISA), North Carolina, USA, Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), Virginia, USA, International Society for Telemedicine & eHealth (ISfTeH), Basel, Switzerland, The Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata, Institute for Engineering Research and Publication (IFERP), Chennai, International Computer Science and Engineering Society (ICSES), San Jose, USA and International Economics Development and Research Center (IEDRC), Hong Kong.
