Centre for Youth Development and Leadership Studies at Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills, Arunachal Pradesh and Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu are jointly organizing “a three days Training of Trainers (ToT) Programme” for NSS Programme Officers of Arunachal Pradesh on Youth and Peace Building from 29th to 31st January, 2018 at IDE Conference, Rajiv Gandhi University. The ToT programme was inaugurated by Mr. Himanshu Gupta, IAS, Special Secretary to CM Arunachal Pradesh. In his inaugural address, he highlighted about the need of youth involvement in nation building and state’s development. He congratulated both RGNIYD and RGU for the innovative programme designed for the NSS POs. Dr.Vasanthi Rajedran, Professor, CTOCB, RGNIYD spoke about the contribution of RGNIYD in the area of youth development. She highlighted the need of involvement of NSS POs in engaging youth for nation building. The inaugural session was chaired by Prof.Tana Showren, Department of History, RGU. Dr. V N Sharma, VC Arunodaya University, Arunachal Pradesh participated as a “Special Invitee”. Dr. Rambabu Botcha, Assistant Professor, RGNIYD was also present in the inaugural programme. This programme is designed to train the NSS Progrmme Officers of Arunachal Pradesh. Around 40 participants are participating in this programme. The programme is covering important issues related to peace and conflict such as understanding conflict, levels of conflict, factors influencing on youth to involve in conflicts, techniques of conflict management, understanding peace, role of various stakeholders in peace building, and contribution and efforts of noble peace prize laureates such as His Holiness the Dalai Lama etc. Dr. Kaushalendra Pratap Singh, Chairperson, CYDLS, RGU is the programme coordinator of this three days ToT programme who welcome all the guests and participants and Mr. Gomar Basar, Member Secretary, CYDLS proposed vote of thanks.
