Sriperumbudur, November 17 â The Adolescent Resource Centre (ARC), UNICEF at the Department of Social Work , Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) has organised the two days workshop on âAdolescent Education Programme (AEP)â here today.
Professor (Dr.) M.M. Goel, Director RGNIYD while delivering the inaugural address said that RGNIYD is committed for empowerment of youth i with determination dedication and devotion to say no to conflict caused by discrimination, deprivation and discontent in democratic India through NYP 2014.
The understanding, analysing and interpreting the issues related to adolescents in schools falls in the domain of this workshop to be addressed by the experts, told the Director RGNIYD.
We need to develop solid support system for the solution of the problems of adolescents in schools, believes Prof. Goel
The adolescents need to adopt SMART and SIMPLE models developed by Professor Goel in the book âEconomics of Human Resource Development in Indiaâ (2012) is the need of the day.
Energies of the adolescents need to utilised for creative and innovative solutions including âout of the boxâ, believes Prof. Goel. Dr.A. Karpagam Psychiatrist of Chennai delivered the special address.
Dr. S. Kumaravel, Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator if ARC programme and Mr. V.S. Varunanvelu, Technical Consutlant, UNICEF were present during the programme. Mr. M. Noel Antony Dass Prgramme Officer ARC welcomed the guests. Ms. Nalini of MSW II Year - Department of Social Work proposed the vote of thanks.
