Training of Trainers on Life Skills for the Teachers / Wardens / House Masters / Watchman of Govt. Children’s Home

Sriperumbudur, July 28-  We need to become SMART and SIMPLE by understanding the life skills including competencies of critical thinking, creativity, communication skills, co-operation and coordination to coexist  are necessary to survive, exist and excel in present times of competition which has become unhealthy today, opined Professor (Dr.) M.M. Goel, Director RGNIYD while delivering the inaugural speech in the Training of Trainers on Life Skills for the Teachers / Wardens / House Masters / Watchman of Govt. Children’s Home  here today by  the Dept. of Social Work, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development   in collaboration with UNICEF under Adolescent Resource Centre project .

Even if one is weak need to become unique through spiritual knowledge flowing from our epics including Gita and Anu-Gita, said Professor Goel.

The knowledge of life skills with practical approach continuously leads to change in looks, actions and words (LAW) to make it the law of the land for all times to come advocated the Director RGNIYD.

He outlined the 10 core life skills education proposed by World Health Organization (WHO) including self-awareness, empathy, critical thinking, creative thinking, problem solving decision making,interpersonal relationship, effective communication, coping with emotion and coping with stress.

Earlier Dr. S. Kumaravel HOD Social Work welcomed and introduced the guests present on the occasion including  the facilitator of training Mrs. Aspy Joyson of ARUWE with  four of her foreign students  doing internship in her organization.
