Teachers Day Celebrations at RGNIYD

Sriperumubudur, Sep. 05 -  Teachers deserve respect and honour. Happy teacher’s day with best wishes to the fraternity.   We need to become good teachers if not great teachers like       Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. A teacher is more than the messenger of knowledge for nurturing the maturity and character of the students. A teaching job is beyond the border of profession and vocation simply earning a livelihood to be carried out with a sense of mission. As responsible teachers, we need to understand, analyse, interpret and adopt the spirit of leadership in Bhagvad Gita to be motivated and motivators of the students. Spiritual enthusiasm is the need of the day to say no to the crimes of all kinds in India. Spiritual bankruptcy and commercialization are the two major causes of the deteriorating standards in education, said Professor M.M. Goel, Director, RGNIYD while addressing the teachers on the occasion of teacher’s day at the tea party hosted by him.

He appealed the teachers to read and reread the book ‘Wings of Fire: An Autobiography of APJ Abdul Kalam (1999)’ for imbibing the lessons therein along with Gita and Anu-Gita.
